How does Guild Membership work for me?
There are two paths Guild Members can take, based on their business: Freelancer or Small Business Owner
Freelancers typically:
Sell their skills and time to clients
Have low work-related expenses
Need to find their own customers and self-promote
Seek better and affordable health insurance options
Deal with high levels of income instability
Have high risk exposure since their livelihood depends on them working
Want to maximize their freedom and time
Here’s how it works:
Freelancers use the GwB tools to invoice their clients.
Guild Member clients’ payments go to Guilds with Benefits.
We pay for the benefits, employer taxes, and admin costs then pay the Guild Member out on payroll (less any outstanding advances).
Freelancers make up all of our guilds except for the Small Business Owners Guild.
Small Business Owners typically:
Sell their products or services to customers
Have higher work-related expenses
Want to reduce administrative burden and cost
Seek better and affordable health insurance options
May experience busy seasons and slow seasons
May want to separate their money/earnings from that of their business
Here’s how it works:
Small Business Owners Guild Members invoice their business for their labor using GwB tools.
Their business makes payments to Guilds with Benefits, recognizing this payment as an Owner’s Draw.
We pay for the benefits, employer taxes, and admin costs then pay the Guild Member out on payroll (less any outstanding advances).
